in the hand of destiny

By chayoma
Most times when we struggle & do our best to make ends meet, we should note that it is in the hands of God to get to our different desired position in life when we are trudging along in life we should not forget that God has our destinies in his hand, so in all we do let's try looking up to him for guidance, having the belief that in no time we shall get to our desired position in life.

THE WELFARE SLAVE.

By chayoma
Goddy was employed as a  housekeeper in a very big mansion, he was in charge of  the cleanliness of the whole house inside & out side, he worked full time & had his own room at the back of the big house,    goddy's duty was to make sure dat the house remained neat & spotless at any  point in time.         He was married with two  kids, who lived with him there at the  back of the  big house.

Goddy was   fed well, clothed, sheltered & provided for well enough but his master who made all these provisions     was still a thorn in the flesh   of goddy, because goddy's wife was such a very beautiful woman, his boss took advantage of the fact that they lived in his house & provided for very well, he made goddy's wife his live-in-mistress, he came into goddy's abode even in the presence of goddy, while he excuses them his boss haves his way with goddy's wife.

Goddy's boss invites goddy's wife into his big mansion anytime his own wife is not at home. though goddy knows all these because he gave his consent to the affair when he almost lost his job, by proving difficult but later changed  his mind when the threat was much on him his wife on the other hand supported it so heartedly because she was gaining alot materially   from the illicit affair.

Goddy's boss bought a car for goddy & increased his allowance by fifty percent, to outsiders goddy is a lucky man but inside of him, goddy is dying slowly sharing his beloved wife with his boss who feeds, clothes & shelters him. unable to rise up as a man & confront    his boss a man like himself, damning  the consequences irrespective of whose guard is let down. But goddy prefers to be a coward while another man eats with him the dish that is  meant for his mouth alone.

A pitiable welfare slave! that is called GODDY!

GREENER PASTURE (PART ONE)

By chayoma
Most times to make ends meet we find ourselves moving from one place to the other, settling in a place where the grass looks greener. that was what happened to Emeka my town's guy. Emeka grew up in the village, he had no basic education whatsoever, though he was brilliant, he went to a village next to his mother's town to learn a trade when he was 10 years old. his master was into spare parts bizness, so emeka had to begin his apprenticeship with the act of approaching a customer & the necessary rudiments that had to do with customer relationship, then the products & the buying & selling techniques. Emeka soon became an expert in that field, before he was sixteen, he was already making short trips to the neigbouring town to purchase goods on behave of his master, his master was pleased with emeka's steadfastness & hardwork, sooner than people could imagine emeka was made the manager of the shop where they operated, emeka was happy & worked harder, more to please his master. The duration of the apprenticeship approached, emeka's parents came to visit him & to discuss the issue of their son's settlement with his master. Emeka's master insisted that emeka had to still serve him for another period of two years before he can settle him. emeka discussed with his parents & they decided to give it a try. At twenty-two, emeka was still serving his master who refused to settle him & let him go find his own feet in life, despite the efforts emeka's people had made for the man to settle their son. the initial agreement was that emeka will serve him for seven years after which he will settle emeka with some certain amount of money which would help emeka establish his own bizness, this is the normal way it had always been. When it was realised that emeka will not be settled by his master after serving him for twelve years, for no justifiable reason but that emeka should still be with him for another year, even when it was so obvious that the man was making it big time.......................... WATCH OUT FOR PART TWO!

ANGEL

By chayoma
I believe that we all are the visible angels that those that are less fortunate in life need, to be able to believe in themselves. some of us that are fortunate to feed at least twice a day should be grateful to God & at the same time show love to those that are less fortunate in that regards. There are people who can't afford to eat a half plate of a square meal, if you know what i mean. It's really hard for some family, especially those that don't have any means of livelihood. when we have our meal each day let's remember those that are hungry & try to pause, think about them & remain a part of our meal for them. Instead of throwing that left over food into the waste bin, why not package it & give it to a begger on the street,on your way out? you will be blessed for that for life, only the smile the begger will give you is enough to open doors of success your way. Try to conserve unwanted food for the use of those that can't afford to get food to eat, feed as many people as you are able to and be that visible angel that, that begger looks up to for a tinge of hope for his or her existence in this world. BE THAT BEAUTIFUL ANGEL!

FOR THE LOVE OF AMELIA.

By chayoma
Amelia was born a cripple. Her parents abandoned her in the hospital when she was born after spending alot of money on her because she was born pre-mature and sickly and moreover the doctor handling her case had told them that amelia would never make use of her legs. Her parents were poor and couldn't cope with the hospital bills of catering for a sickly and handicapped child, they abandoned her in the hospital and relocated to an unknown place. The hospital kept the child until a woman whose child died at birth decided to take amelia home with her as her own, then amelia was about seven months old. Amelia grew into a beautiful girl, whom everyone that came in contact with, loved and at the same time pitied her, she was a smart little girl, her adopted parents loved her like their own, they had 2 girls of their own but they doted on amelia the more. she was given the best education and she moved arround on a wheel chair. she was not bothered about her disability till she gained admission into the higher institution. she was mocked by her classmates, used as a carricature. most times when she tried to air her view about something she got snickers from some students who made fun of her because she was crippled. life was so miserable in school for her. In her third year in school, amelia met a young man who she fell in love with and lost her virginity to, but the young man played with her heart breaking it into pieces, leaving amelia in a state of shock and disillusion. Her parents tried to cheer her up after the incidence, though she appeared to be consoled by their encouraging words, amelia never became the same again, she lost her self-esteem and self-worth, she became a recluse and blamed God for making her a cripple, she believed the young man left her because she was crippled. Amelia graduated from the university with a second class honours. Her parents started making arrangements for her to do her masters in england, they kept it a secret hoping to present her with her visa and the other documents on her birthday which was some months ahead. Amelia on the other hand was fed up with life, with the fact that she can never walk in her life time, with all the snickerings and mockings of people because she was crippled, she appreciated the love of her parents but she felt it was not enough to take away the reproach. On the eve of her 25th birthday, a party was held for her and on the day of her birthday, amelia never woke up from her sleep. SHE COMMITED SUICIDE!

By chayoma

bakka is a young man in his late twenties, he had been on the streets for a long time, begging for a living for as long as he can't even remember, most nights he went to bed hungry his bed being made of plywood such occasions he cries himself to sleep. once in a while he resorts to picking pockets to feed himself, the society has turned him into a monster, he's lost all hope, he fraternises with his street  friends sometimes & engages in some bad acts like involving in drugs & some other vice.

the society does not care about her own, there are so much helplessness & hopelessness in the nation, yet in all these i wish to reach out to those who still have life in them that they should still be hopeful, desist from any kind of destructive act & look up to nature, nature doesn't abandon a heart that is sincere & pure that looks up to it for succour.

TO YOU ALL WHO ARE JUST LIKE BAKKA ROAMING THE STREETS HELPLESSLY & HOPELESSLY. THE GREAT WORDS I SEND TO YOU ARE  "BE HOPEFUl".

THE SISTERS.

By chayoma
uchenna & mma were the only children of mr & mrs ndochie, uchenna was the eldest & gave mma a gap of 16 years in age. when uchenna was born her mother couldn't conceive for a long time & people  thought she would not be able to take in again but 16 years later, mma was conceived, she came as a surprise to her parents because they had given up on ever having another child, the baby was named mma which means beauty, and she grew up to be such a great beauty indeed.

when mma was barely six years old, her elder sister uchenna got married & left with her husband, mma cried everyday insisting to go & stay with her sister, the parents refused to let her go to uchenna, but when she stopped eating & started losing weight, they sent for uchenna, who later took mma who was six years old at the time, with her to her matrimonial home in a different city far away from their parents' home.

mma grew up with her elder sister & most people who didn't know them deeply thought uchenna gave birth to mma because of the age difference. uchenna started having her own kids & gradually started using mma her younger sister as a maid, by the time uchenna had her sixth child, mma had grown & was in her junior high school & had turned into a great beauty which elicited jealousy from uchenna & gradually uchenna fully converted her to a house help, who did all the house chores while her own children lazied around the house, mma was beaten at will by her sister who always called her good for nothing child.

uchenna had all her children fixed in good  private schools, while she put her sister mma in a public school, though mma was not happy about this but she endured it, when uchenna's last child was born & their mother came for a visit, mma narrated her ordeal to their mother & told her that she would go with her that she didn't want to stay with her sister any more, but uchenna told their mother a different story, at the end their mother left, leaving mma with her sister.

when mma was to sit for her junior high school mock exam, her sister refused her from sitting for the   junior mock exam & eventually stopped her from going to school. despite what mma was facing in her sister's home, she still  blossomed into a great beauty, uchenna's hatred for her younger sister mma grew each day & any time a visitor came to the house & praised mma's beauty, uchenna would hit & abuse mma when the visitor had gone. when mma couldn't bear it any more, she took some of her sister's money & went back to her  parents.

uchenna travelled to her parents' home few days later & lied heavily against mma, telling their parents that mma was everything imagineably bad, & that she was trying hard to instill some discipline into her. unfortunately their parents believed uchenna & told mma to go back with uchenna or get out of the house, mma was eventually frustrated & forced into an early marriage at the age of 14 years, without proper education, mma later died as a result of complications arising from child-birth because her body was not yet strong & matured enough to carry a pregnancy.

mma was a victim of her sister's vicious & envious mind, because she was a beauty to behold,  her elder sister  uchenna resented her so much for being so beautiful, despised & treated her badly out of envy, to pay her for taking all that beauty & being the one receiving peoples' praises & admirations all the time & at the end uchenna the elder sister drove mma the younger sister to an early grave, because she couldn't control her jealous, wicked & warped mind.
